My passion is to educate and help others; whether it be sharing the information I have learned in life, to being a part of the non-profit industry and making a difference in peoples lives, I feel I have so much to give to others, it’s what I love.

I have been fortunate enough to be involved in many non-profit ventures, my most proudest being my event "A Night for The Ladies". One of my personal goals has always been to plan and execute a Charity event by utilizing the resources that I have met in life. Last June, I achieved this goal by hosting my event… A Night for “the Ladies” which took place at L1 Lounge in West Edmonton Mall. It was a fabulous Pink Hollywood affair where guests walked the pink carpet, watched an “All Pink” fashion show, listened to a live DJ and enjoyed an evening out with friends. In addition we had a silent auction, a young cancer survivor speaker, and delicious appetizers and desserts. The event was a success, and I raised $7000 for the Alberta Cancer Foundation towards the research and prevention of Breast Cancer at the Cross Cancer Institute. By utilizing my resources and networking with new contacts, I was able to hold the entire event for a budget of only $400, and I am proud to say I did it!

This past March, I teamed up with the Alberta Cancer Foundation again and participated in the Edmonton Bust a Move event. It was a 6 hour fitness challenge where each person had to raise $1000 to participate. I surpassed my goal, and Busted My Move alongside 300 other participants, with the Richard Simmons himself and the event raised over $400,000 for the Cross Cancer Institute. It was such an incredible day!

In addition to events, I am an active Board Member for Dress for Success, Calgary Chapter. Our mission is to promote the economic independence of disadvantaged women by providing a professional attire, a network of support, and the career development tools to help women thrive in work and in life. Teamed together with a group of powerhouse business women, a new chapter of this organization has arose in Calgary and we are opening a new boutique in Southcentre Mall in Spring 2012.

I have been very blessed in life and always felt if you can give back then you should...

Small differences can mark the beginning of substantial change.”
